In her free time, Andrea enjoys attending events at her church and spending time with her 2 adult children. She has lived in Germany and speaks German.
Andrea graduated with a Master's of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from Ball State University in 1990. She graduated with her Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing from Ball State University in 1984. Her career began as a Registered Nurse which helped her to observe and understand the complexities of physical disease and it's impact on mental health. During graduate work at Ball State University, Andrea found a passion for working with clients having complicated grief issues and helped establish a crisis pregnancy center in the community there. She also joined a volunteer pastoral care team at her local church to visit the sick and to pray with them.
After painful losses of her parents to cancer, she found solace and fulfillment by working with families in hospice care. Not long after, Andrea experienced breast cancer and found out firsthand what it was like to be a cancer patient, enduring multiple surgeries and treatments while raising 2 young children. Through her healing journey she discovered how integrating faith with emotions and physical health was her calling in life. Andrea has deep compassion for those dealing with the impact of cancer.
Instead of focusing solely on therapy OR medical issues OR Christian faith, Andrea strives to merge all 3 to provide a truly comprehensive approach to healing/mental health treatment for her clients.
Andrea is licensed in the states of Michigan and Indiana. Andrea works as a psychiatric nurse in an inpatient hospital setting as well as in private practice. She utilizes many clinical approaches with an emphasis on Christian Counseling.
